San Antonio firefighters were called out to the Silver Oaks Apartments for multiple dumpster fires on the property. Once they arrived, they not only found the dumpsters on fire, but also an apartment building with heavy flames shooting out of the roof.
San Antonio Fire Chief Charles Hood told News4 SA that the decision was made quickly to pull all the firemen out of the building due to the massive amount of flames and the instability of the building itself.
A huge piece of the building fell on a group of firefighters who were coming out of the main building. A hose team immediately hosed them down to put out the flames on their jackets.
No injuries were reported to any firefighters or residents.
